The anesthesia will disappear completely within 2 to 3 hours after treatment. Avoid chewing on the treated side before the anesthesia wears off or you may bite your cheek and hurt yourself.
Crown and bridge | post-treatment advice
To minimize postoperative sensitivity, we suggest Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil). It decreases the sensitivity often caused by a deep restoration or by the use of the laser which slightly exposes the circumference of the tooth. The gum will heal quickly and the sensitivity will fade within a few days.
It will take a little time to adapt to the new anatomy of the teeth. It should feel normal after a few days.
Feeling some discomfort is normal. During the first 7 to 14 days, there is the possibility of sensitivity to cold, hot and chewing. A telephone follow-up will be done in the coming days to ensure that everything is going well and to answer any questions you may have.
